Blues Foundations Workshop
August 9th 2009, 11am-5pm
To help kick off the grand opening of the Blues Kitchen, Tim and Whitton are holding a Foundations Workshop for the VERY discounted price of $25 for 6 hours of Blues fun. There will be four classes focusing on connection, balance, moves, and musicality. This workshop ties directly into our brand new Wednesday night sessions starting August 12th. Come and help us celebrate our new home. Bring your friends. Introduce them to Blues. This workshop is designed to give beginners the basics and advanced dancers the focus and feedback needed to take their dancing further.
Blues Kitchen
Every Wednesday Night Starting August 12th
LA’s only weekly blues venue and LA’s only Blues instructors are making Nadia’s Rhythm Room their home! Tim and Whitton will bring you the Blues every week for two hours of lessons and one hour of practice. They began teaching Blues together in 2008 as a way to expand and enrich the Los Angeles Blues scene. Their teaching philosophy is that there is no “right” but there are some better ways to have more fun. Every class has a theme and specific goals to create a clear and effective dialogue with students. Students consistently say that Whitton and Tim create a great learning environment, bring lots of energy, make the class fun, and also have superb technical knowledge of the dance.
8-9pm Intermediate Class
9-10pm Beginner Class
10-11pm Practica

Practica only $0… Thank Nadia for that one!
What is Blues?
Blues is a uniquely American dance form created in the juke joints and rent parties of the South. It has migrated and evolved all over the US to create one of the most diverse and intimate of the improvisational partner dances. It is known for its intimate embrace, good technical foundations, grounded feel, and huge musical range. It’s also really easy to learn!
