Welcome to the Matrix
In this class we cover the differences between Tension and Movement. Both of these techniques help to create the look of blues dancing and are important concepts to bring to your dancing. In this class we will work towards controlling your dancing and timing. Who knows, perhaps you will be push the limits of time and space? Are you ready to step into the blues matrix?
Intro to Micro Blues
In this class we will be learning the basics of a style called Micro Blues. This  is a style of blues dancing that is most popular in Seattle.  It focuses on smaller and subtler movements of the body.  We will be working on alternate points of connection and refining our connection so that the smallest movement transfers to our partner. 
 Foot-Work  We will be working on how to move across the floor, and which part of the foot to use. We are going to get down and dirty with some serious foot technique. But don't despair, there will also be games at the end for those who are still standing.
 Leg Leads
In this class we will be doing a class on leading moves from different parts of your body, namely the legs. We are going to cover all manner of fun moves that you can do with your legs, including the Mooch and The Grind. These are two classic blues moves that will really make you work it.
 Moves to Blues By
In this class we will be covering some basic moves for you to use on the blues floor.  We will be working on simple ways to get in and out of dips and turns and going over in detail the ways to can takes steps from other dance styles and adapt them to blues.  There will be some salsa, charleston and swing. 
 Nothing Connects Like A Hug
How do you establish that deep, rich connection that makes blues so "yummy"? Well, in this class we are going to start with a hug and use that connected, relaxed feeling in our dance.  We will talk a little bit about the history and blues and how that contributed to what we think of as the blues connection. 
 Tango Blues
Blues is a form of dance to which you can adapt moves from many other dances.  We will be leaning some crossover tango moves as well as the theory behind what is "fusion". No tango experience necessary, but this is a great class for those looking to expand their dance vocabulary.
 Connection In the beginner class we will be working on connecting  to your partner and becoming more familiar with the blues posture.  This class is great for getting back into blues space if you have not been dancing in a while, but also works fo
Know Your Blues
In this class we will be getting to know blues music on a more personal basis.  We will go over the basic structure of the most common blues formats like 12 - bar and 8 - bar blues.  This class is designed to help you gain a better understanding of blues music as a basis for bringing more musicality to your dancing.
Leaving the Ground
In this class we will be working on various contemporary blues moves that allow the follow and the lead to grab some air. he focus is on how to leave the ground and still keep your dancing grounded and controlled. Dynamic movement and precise technique make these moves a lot of fun to learn and practice.
